SCHOOLS’ CONCERTS AND AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

For nearly two decades, the CPO has been visiting schools to offer young learners the opportunity to hear a full symphony orchestra and grow potential audiences. Where appropriate, learners are invited to perform with the CPO or conduct it, under the expert direction of resident conductor Brandon Phillips. During Covid, the programme was suspended and a concert was filmed showcasing orchestral instruments which is available here

In May 2022, the CPO was able to introduce schools concerts again, visiting 15 schools, giving 45 concerts and reaching 16 000 young learners.
