Caroline Prozesky (née van Renen) started playing the French horn at the age of ten and received a Bachelor of Music (cum laude) at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth with Prof. Erik Albertyn. She was principal horn of the South African National Youth Orchestra in 2004, and from 2006, when SANYO performed in Bonn and Berlin, to 2008. She completed a Masters in Music Performance at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève (the Geneva Conservatory) under international horn soloist Bruno Schneider. While in Geneva, Caroline won an audition to be an extra horn player for the prestigious Orchestre Suisse Romande.
In August 2011, she became the principal horn of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and currently lives in Cape Town with her husband, Daniel and daughter Olivia.
