Conductor: Cem Mansur Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue Born in Instanbul, Cem Mansur studied in London, graduating from the City University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was awarded the Ricordi Prize and later studied with Leonard Bernstein at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute. Included among the many internationally acclaimed orchestras that he has conducted are the English Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic. Mansur has worked with many world-renowned soloists such as Janos Starker, Midori, Dmitri Alexeev and Haken Hardenberger. He is Artistic Director of the Akbank Chamber Orchestra in Istanbul and President of the Ipswich Choral Society in England.
Virtuoso clarinettist — Bryan Crumpler is one of America's most forthcoming young artists in the world of classical music. An alumni Morehead Scholar & graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, he is inching his way to the forefront as a concert soloist, recitalist, orchestral clarinettist & chamber musician of the 21st century. Dabbling in everything from pure Classical (Contemporary & Traditional) to Klezmer, Dixieland, Jazz, R&B Easy Listening, & Avant Garde, there is no work too daunting for Bryan Crumpler. To date, he has performed internationally to critical acclaim throughout the USA, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium & the Netherlands; & he continues to make his mark on the international scene.
Acknowledged as one of South Africa’s leading concert pianists and musicians, FRANÇOIS DU TOIT is an Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Cape Town. Receiving his early musical training from Merryl Preston, he went on to complete an Honours degree at the University of Cape Town, studying under the distinguished pianist and teacher, Laura Searle. Also holding diplomas up to Fellowship level from the Trinity College of Music, London, he studied for the Solistendiplom at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, under the renowned pedagogue Berndt Goetzke.
