Pieter Daniel started playing the piano at the age of four and made his orchestral debut at the age of twelve, performing the Mozart Violin Concerto KV 218 in Frankfurt, Germany and later that year also in Johannesburg and Pretoria.  At the age of nineteen he graduated with distinction from the Hochschule in Frankfurt, becoming the youngest person to date to be awarded the highest Diploma for musical studies in Germany. Among his most distinguished teachers were the violinist Henryk Szeryng , Zino Francescatti and Dorothy De Lay, with whom he studied in the graduate programme of the Juilliard School in New York. 

Pieter Daniel has performed all major violin concerti from Bach to Alban Berg with leading orchestras in the USA and Europe, such as the National Symphony Washington, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, German Radio Symphony Orchestras, the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. Mr Daniel has played recitals and chamber concerts in Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw and the Musikvereinsaal in Vienna. He has performed with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Südwest Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra and was the conductor and second soloist on a 20 concert tour with Nigel Kennedy throughout Germany, performing at all the major halls. He made his conducting debut at the Avery Fisher Hall in New York with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra,during an equally extended tour of the eastern United States. During that tour he also performed the Bach Double Concerto with Nigel Kennedy. In the 2005/2006 season he conducted the Polish Chamber Orchestra on a tour of the major German Halls. For the past 15 years he has also enjoyed working with young musicians as a Professor at the Folkwang University in Essen. 

Liesl Stoltz  (born in Bellville), studied flute since 1989 with Eva Tamassy at the University of Stellenbosch. In 1993, at age 16, she won a scholarship to attend an orchestral course in the USA where she was selected principal flute of the International Youth Wind Orchestra and received a special award for excellence in performance and leadership. In 1995 Shigenori Kudo offered her a scholarship to study at the Ecole Normale de Musique: Alfred Cortot in Paris, France. She also studied with Pierre-Yves Artaud at the same institution and with Chantal Debushy (Chamber Music). She holds Diplômes Supérieur de Concertiste in flute and in chamber music. In 1999 she obtained B. Mus. Honours (first class) from the University of Cape Town and in 2000 a Performers Licentiate (with distinction) from UNISA. Liesl studied with Peter-Lukas Graf from 1999-2001 at the ‘Accademia Internazionale di Musica Lorenzo Perosi in Biella, Italy and obtained the Concert Diploma with Distinction in November 2001. In June 2003 she obtained the degree M.Mus with distinction from the University of Cape Town.

Since 1993 she has won various competitions, including the National Youth Music (Woodwinds), the French Huguenot, the ATKV-FORTE (’97 - Winner, Woodwinds; ’99 - Overall Winner), the Oude Meester Music Prize, and the Concours European de Musique. She received second prize in the SAMRO Music Prize competition (2000) and in the ‘Jeunesses Musicales International’ in Bucharest, Romania. She was a semi-finalist in the 2003 Budapest International Flute Competition and Finalist in the 2005 Leonardo de Lorenzo Flute Competition in Italy. In November 2007 she was third prize recipient of the 12th Timisoara International Flute Competition in Romania and 1st prize winner (and winner of the prize for the best interpretation of a work by Kuhlau) of the 12th Frederich Kuhlau International Flute Competition in Germany. Liesl has been principal flute in the National Youth Orchestra in South Africa (1997-1999) and has performed as soloist with the Cape Town- and Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestras, the UCT String Ensemble, Camerata Tinta Barocca, the Free State Symphony Orchestra and the Odeion Simfonia.  

She formed Opus Duo with Portuguese classical guitarist Pedro Rodrigues in 2000 and they have since performed in France, Italy and South Africa. In May 2001 the duo received second prize in the “Gaetano Zinetti” International Chamber Music Competition in Verona, Italy and the Morelati Award for Excellence as youngest group who participated in the final round. The duo’s CD was nominated for the GMT as well as SAMA awards in South Africa in 2005. Liesl performs regularly with Spanish pianist Jorge Herranz in Europe and South Africa. Since 2005 she is a member of Trio du Cap with Anmari van der Westhuizen (cello) and François du Toit (piano). At present Liesl teaches privately and at the College of Music, University of Cape Town and performs extensively as soloist and chamber musician
