Every production of Aida is a major event. and this one is no exception. It features a local and international cast of singers, the CPO, the powerful Cape Town Opera Voice of the Nation chorus, Jazzart dancers and onstage musicians

Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida is an enthralling story of lovers caught in the havoc of war. In this 3,500 year-old love story, an Ethiopian princess, Aida, is captured into Egyptian slavery and falls in love with a military commander.  Radamès has to choose between his love for Aida, or his loyalty to his country. Set in the splendour of ancient Egypt, Cape Town Opera’s production of one of opera’s most revered classics, Aida, promises to deliver compelling drama and ignite the heart and soul.
